Geography Week

Reception looked at Great Britain and the environment. We started the week by walking round the school grounds collecting litter. We talked about materials that we can recycle and used them to make things in our junk modeling area.

Year 1

Year 1 visited China for the week. We used Zookazam to meet a Panda family using augmented reality. We made and tasted traditional chinese stir fry and worked if off doing Chinese exercises every day.

Year 2

Year 2 had a taste of Italy for the week sampling olives, learning about iconic landmarks such as the Vatican and Colliseum and learning to sing Dormi Dormi. We had a fantastic week!

Year 3

Year 3 went to Martin Mere. We looked at where the different species of bird were from and plotted these on a map. We also used our map reading skills to find different objects in the Wild Walk.

Year 4

At Martin Mere, Year 4 learned all about the water cycle. We made a cloud in a bottle and discovered how the actions of humans are causing pollution and flooding.

We learned about the different bags, bins and boxes we use for recycling when we were visited by U C Crew.

Year 5

Year 5 studied the United States of America, looked at where the country lies in the North American continent, the states that make up the country and sampled some of the food and culture of the region.

Year 6

Year 6 studied New Zealand - we interviewd MR Yate and Ms Epstein who have both spent a lot of time there.  We also learnt the Haka and had a barbecue .
